2023, a year to remember
The last days of 2023 invite us to reflect on the year that is ending, to look back to see what objectives we achieved and to consider what challenges and goals we will have in the future.
At Luigi Bosca, this was a year we will remember for being full of important moments for those of us who are part of the winery: highly anticipated wine launches, international events and fairs, gastronomic meetings, awards and great scores around the world.
Without a doubt, one of the main milestones this year was the launch of five new wines from our Apuntes collection: Petit Verdot, Organic Malbec, Semillón Fumé, Cabernet Sauvignon and Luigi Bosca’s first Naranjo. For us, the Apuntes series is extremely special, as it encompasses those unique and unrepeatable findings that arise in moments of inspiration and experimentation. This family of wines pays tribute to the discoveries that originated in the notes that Alberto Arizu wrote in his notebooks after a lifetime of intimately knowing the Mendoza terroir and each of our estates.
Apuntes is a family of wines that are, for some reason, different, and are not part of the winery’s portfolio. They are interpretations of a very special singularity that embody our vocation of constant search and innovation, and reflect the intimate knowledge we have of our terroir and its vineyards. Therefore, all these 2023 releases are one of the main reasons for Luigi Bosca to be proud of
In Vinous, the prestigious online media of wine critic Antonio Galloni that is a reference for consumers around the world, our icon wine Paraíso 2020 was highlighted with 94 points as well as the limited edition De Sangre Malbec Paraje Altamira 2021.
In addition, throughout the year our wines obtained excellent scores from renowned critics, publications and international competitions. Given the vast number of labels available, the importance of these scores lies in the fact that they are a very valuable and accurate guide for the foreign market. The scores speak of the objective quality of the wine in question, therefore, aspects such as cleanliness, purity, harmony, balance, how complex and elegant its aromas are, the texture of its tannins, how its acidity is perceived, elegance and length in the mouth are evaluated.
